Twisted knotless netting, from Nitto Seimo, is the only product Smart Net Systems will sell for driving ranges or field surrounds.

It is the strongest, lightest, weight to strength ratio combined with the lowest wind load to strength ratio of any netting available. Twisted knotless polyethylene is the only netting type used on golf course driving ranges in Japan.

Twisted Knotless netting, used by Smart Net Systems, is composed of two sets of twisted filaments that are going in the same direction to, and including the joinings. This results in no loss of strength.	Knitted Raschel (Braided) type netting is constructed with the filaments in a series of knots that are woven together. The diagram demonstrates the way the filaments change direction at the joinings. This results in a strength loss in the average range of 30 percent of the tensile rating of the filaments.

Nitto Seimo knotless netting first appeared on the world market in 1925 when the Nitto Seimo Co., Ltd., founded by Mr. Teruasa Kobayashi, invented the Knotless Twisted Net weaving machine.

Nitto's Knotless nettings have virtually replaced both Raschel and Knotted nettings in the Purse Seine fishing and Trap net fishing industries in Japan.

Nowadays, the use of our Knotless nettings has been expanded to Trawl fishing, Aquaculture, Marine fish transportation, and the various ground-use purposes such as Golf-Driving ranges, Batting-practice cages, backstops and more.
